Reigning Miss Teen Globe South Africa 2023, Renee Ramagondo, waved the South African flag high and walked away with the continental tittle of Miss Teen Globe Africa at a glittering Miss Teen Globe International beauty pageant held in San Lorenzo, Paraguay on 7 July.
The radiant 19-year-old model from Protea Glen, Soweto participated alongside other models from 30 countries.
“Participating on an international platform is a huge responsibility, you have a task to be your country’s brand image, I have no doubt that we represented South Africa very well,” said Renee.
“I would like to thank South Africans for their overflow of support to Renee during the competition,” says Ntombi Gumede, the directo rof Miss Teen Universe South Africa.
Renee was undoubtedly the favourite among the global competition given her flawless beauty, and confidence. But, it was her heritage dress made by vibrant African colours that left many gasping in admiration.
“This young lady really gave her all, it not easy to compete among the world best, South America is considered as the powerhouse beauty pageant, I’m very proud of he rand she deserve the title. One of the greatest benefits of taking part on an international platform is the experience one gains from it, young girls achieve more than they thought possible,” Gumede added.
There is no doubt that Renee will shine in future beauty competitions given the level of confidence and drive she displayed in Paraguay.
Renee has always been academically motivated and completed her primary at Laerskool Voorbrand and matriculated at Höerskool president with 5 distinctions. She is currently a second year law student.
She signed her first modelling contract at 14-years-old, with one of the biggest modelling agencies in South Africa.
She decided to try out pageantry, with Miss Teen Universe South Africa being one of her first National pageants.
She is also a founder of a charity based foundation, Black like me by Renee, focusing on closing the gap of inequality.
She advocates for “standing up for underprivileged children” and uses the platform to bring about change in communities.
