Flying Squad members arrested 8 suspects and recovered three hijacked motor vehicles in Benoni
From Thursday, 27 July until Sunday 30 July, Benoni Flying Squad members arrested 8 suspects and recovered three hijacked motor vehicles.
On Friday at around 12:30, members followed up information and arrested two suspects, aged 32 and 48, at a filling station in Saligna Street, Boksburg. The suspects were in possession of suspected stolen diesel valued at approximately R10 500.00.
A total of six suspects were arrested when they were allegedly found in possession of drugs at Elston Avenue, Benoni, Mistry Street, Actonville, Vusi Musi Section, Tembisa and High Road, Brakpan. Cocaine, nyaope (heroin) and mandrax were recovered in these separate incidents.
In a separate incident, three hijacked motor vehicles were found abandoned, a white VW Polo at Vusi Musi Section, Tembisa reported on a Tembisa South case, a silver VW Polo at Ivory Park Extension 2 reported on a Rabie Ridge case and a white Toyota Quantum at Swan Crescent, Rabie Ridge reported on a Tembisa case.Investigation continues in all cases.
The suspects aged between 26 and 48 will be appearing in the local Magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession of stolen property and possession of and dealing in drugs.
