WAR ON CRIME: Suspect detained for stolen copper cables

The Gauteng Traffic Police together with the Crime Prevention Wardens (CPW) discovered stolen copper cables with a street value of over R90 000 while conducting compliance checks at a company in Wadeville, Ekurhuleni.

Experts from City Power identified and confirmed that the 687 kg of stolen copper cables belonged to City Power.

The male suspect has been detained at the Elsburg SAPS and will appear at the Germiston Magistrate Court on Monday, 4 September, for Possession of Suspected Stolen Copper and Contravention of Second Hand Goods Act 6 of 2009.
