Mother arrested for child neglect in Bloemfontein
Detectives arrested a mother for child neglect after a two months old was left with her boyfriend for days. On 27 September in the afternoon, Kagisanong police were summoned to a house in Rocklands following allegations of child neglect.
On arrival, police discovered that a 2-month-old infant was left in the care of a wheelchair bound disabled boyfriend and the mother was nowhere to be found.

A search party was launched by the Mangaung Child Protection and Sexual offences unit led by Sgt Tiisetso Lentsa and seven days later, on 4 October at about 20:50, the 28-year-old mother arrived home and was arrested for child neglect.
Investigations are continuing to establish where the mother was. The infant was taken for medical observation and to a place of safety. The mother will make her first appearance in court on Friday, 6 October.
