Tembisa finally revives the long awaited CPF
Following a marathon of meetings, community engagements since May 2023, Sector Managers of the seven sectors of SAPS Tembisa breathed a sigh of relief when the CPF was finally elected.
The long awaited revival of the Tembisa CPF was held at Moses Molelekwa Arts Centre.The presence of Community Safety’s Director Mziwethu Xaba and his entourage from Department of Community Safety, the Ward, Ekurhuleni District’s Social Crime Prevention office, Councillors and Tembisa police station’s management ensured a smooth election process.
In a meeting that started at 17:00 and ended at 21:30, top six and additional members were elected without any hassles.The Acting Tembisa Station Commander Colonel Elmarie Pero, congratulated the newly elected forum and reminded them that their mandate is the same “squeezing crime to zero”, and also to know that the race began immediately after appointment.
In closing Director Xaba reminded everyone that the CPF belongs to no one and serves nobody’s interests but those of the community. “The CPF is not a political structure and whoever wants to push their agenda, has to excuse themselves while it is still early”, warned Xaba.
The newly elected CPF will meet as soon as the 18 October 2023 as per instruction by the Tembisa Vispol Commander, Colonel Percy Selematsela to strategically plan for the upcoming festive season.
