Naked male discovered hanging from a tree in Riet River

The naked remains of an unidentified man was discovered hanging from a tree in an open field between Riet River and an area known as Chubbies Garage – KZN.

A resident contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) after they made the discovery. On arrival, Reaction Officers and Paramedics were led to the scene.The body of a man was discovered in a standing position.

A short belt was tied around his neck to a branch of a tree. The deceased was completely naked.His clothes were located next to his body. He sustained a fracture to his left femur and lacerations to both his wrists.

Investigations will determine if he was murdered or committed suicide.
