Ekurhuleni District Commissioner continues to welcome good convictions

Ekurhuleni District Commissioner, Major General Anna Sithole continues to applaud members of the detectives in the district for the good convictions they managed to secure recently.

On December 2020, Chicco Motubatse Mamaila (30) stabbed and killed his girlfriend with a knife while she was carrying a three-month-old baby on her back. The victim succumbed to 47 stabbed wounds on her body. After the incident, Mamaila fled the scene to Jane Furse in Limpopo.

On arrival he reported the matter to one of his relatives who informed Tembisa police about the suspect and he was arrested. Detective Sergeant Mpho Gift Lepadile of SAPS Tembisa thoroughly investigated the case which was successfully placed on the court roll and later transferred to Johannesburg High Court. Mamaila was recently found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Ekurhuleni District Commissioner Major General Anna Sithole applauded the Investigating Officer for bringing back community trust as well as ensuring closure to the family members of the victim who are affected.
