The church compliments efforts by Krugersdorp FCS’
The Gauteng police provincial office collaborated with the Krugersdorp FCS this morning at NG Suiderlig church in West Krugersdorp, at corner Herbet Avenue and Gould Street to show love and donate Christmas gifts to the survivors of sexual abuse.
The commander of the Krugersdorp FCS Unit, Lt Colonel Neo Mekgwe welcomed the good gesture shown by members of the Suiderlig NG church. “Christmas is a time for giving, sharing and loving. Many of us will be doing that with the loved ones. It feels so good to see the church doing exactly what is expected of them by God, caring and putting back smiles to the survivors of sexual abuse”, she said.
“It is literally an act of counteracting the abuse of defenseless women and children”, she added.
The message was received and complimented by their provincial counterparts, including Forensic Social Workers, provincial Communications, Krugersdorp Social Crime Prevention coordinator and members of the church.
About 500 cookie containers were donated by the church and the Krugersdorp FCS unit will visit and distribute to survivors of sexual related offences at different policing precincts.
The unit will visit survivors affected from as early as January 2023. Areas to be visited include Muldersdrift, Magaliesburg, Kagiso, Hekpoort, Krugersdorp, Randfontein and Tarlton.
