15-year-old boy detained for fatally stabbing 17-year-old in Phahladira Village
The Police in Vila Nora, Waterberg District have arrested a 15-year-old boy for stabbing and killing a 17-year-old boy at Shongoane 2 Phahladira village, in the early hours of Sunday, 4 February.
According to information, the Police were summoned to the scene, on arrival at the said tavern, the victim was already transported to the local clinic by the tavern owner.
They proceeded to the clinic and, upon arrival, the medical examiner, certified the victim dead. Preliminary investigation found that the victim was stabbed with a sharp object in his upper body. They opened a case of murder and traced the suspect who was arrested the same day.
The motive for this horrific incident is unknown and the investigation is still continuing.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the Police in Limpopo, Major General Jan Scheepers, has condemned the incident, pointing out that parents need to take their rightful positions and exercise their responsibility as parents to avoid a repeat of these incidents.
The arrested suspect will soon appear before the Phalala Magistrate’s court. Police investigation is continuing.
