​​The Klipspruit Multipurpose Centre has blossomed from a simple soccer field into a dynamic sports haven, proudly adjoining the Sharpa Nike Centre. 

The City of Johannesburg’s Region F Health Department, in collaboration with Anova Health and Metropolitan, held an annual award ceremony to celebrate its staff and clinics that are performing well at the Turffontein Racecourse recently.

​At 51 years old, Inspector Bhongolethu Magcai has proved it’s never too late to chase your dreams. Bhongolethu works in Johannesburg Metro Police Department’s (JMPD) VIP Protection Unit and recently achieved a milestone by obtaining his matric qualification, thanks to the City’s Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) programme.

​​Ntsindiso Mphakathi, a young and determined athlete from Port Saint Johns in the Eastern Cape, had dreamed of winning the Soweto Marathon for as long as he could remember. As South Africa reclaimed the African Bank Soweto Marathon on Sunday, 5 November at the iconic FNB stadium, Mphakathi and Irvette van Zyl emerged victorious in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively. 

​The City of Johannesburg Libraries and Information Services congratulates Mikateka Primary for winning the Story Skirmish and Franklin D Primary for winning the Battle of the Books competition. 

​World Cities Day is globally observed today on 31 October . In observance of World Cities Day 2023, the City of Johannesburg echoes the call of the United Nations’ Habitat Department to promote sustainable urban development.
